ikebana - Japanese flower arranging

Ikebana is a Japanese method of flower arranging that emphasises the space between flowers, and values the mindfulness and friendship that flower arranging can bring.

It is a method of flower arranging in which the lengths and angles of the flowers are well-defined, making it possible for everyone to make a beautiful arrangement - you do not need to be a creative person to make a beautiful Ikebana!

Guests will be provided with a "Kenzan" flower stand, beautiful  dish and a choice of branches, foliage and flowers. They will learn about the principles of Ikebana as well as its rich history in Japanese culture. Guests will follow a detailed set of instructions and measurements based on a popular arrangement method from the "Sogetsu" school of Ikebana, with help from our trained instructor.  Once finished, guests can photograph their Ikebana in all it's beauty.. They will then be shown how to wrap their flowers in paper (like they are sold at florist) so that they are easy to take home. We will advise on how to care for the flowers and how to re-create their own Ikebana at home. We can reccommend what Kenzan to buy to make more Ikebana at home.

Prices are £45pp + VAT, with discounts available for large groups.
