ikebana - Japanese flower arranging
Ikebana is a Japanese method of flower arranging that emphasises the space between flowers, and values the mindfulness and friendship that flower arranging can bring.
It is a method of flower arranging in which the lengths and angles of the flowers are well-defined, making it possible for everyone to make a beautiful arrangement
Guests will be provided with a "Kenzan" flower stand, beautiful dish and a choice of branches, foliage and flowers. They will learn about the principles of Ikebana as well as its rich history in Japanese culture. Guests will follow a detailed set of instructions and measurements based on a popular arrangement method from the "Sogetsu" school of Ikebana, with help from our trained instructor. Once finished, guests can photograph their Ikebana in front of a backdrop that we provide, and their flowers will be wrapped to take home. We will advise on how to care for the flowers and how to re-create their own Ikebana at home.
